  • Set Goals

Recently I have trained harder than I have ever trained before. I have finally fit into this gorgeous size 10 dress I bought at Christmas that I could NOT fit into before. I have trained every day sometimes twice. I train for a MINIMUM of 90 minutes. Why? Because you don’t start burning fat until 45 minutes has passed so I don’t even time my workout till that point. I have been getting up at 5 am to train and have even gone back to train at night. When I train I train HARD.

  • Who Says I Should Be A Certain Size?

It so easy to think about what we want to change in our life, what we have not yet achieved, what we wish we looked like etc. Mardi’s new and improved post got me thinking about something I had been thinking about a lot in the last few days.

  • Celebration Hangover

    Celebration Hangover
No I don’t mean the alcoholic one – I am talking about an entirely different type of hangover.
It happens slowly. You have a series of events to go to and at first you do all right. You maintain your weight loss focus, but then slowly one little treat turns to another, you indulge a little, then a little more and before you know it your common sense filter has switched off altogether.
This is not technically bingeing, however, it is a destructive pattern of behaviour which will lead to the horrible sludge of self hatred.

People trying to get off drugs acknowledge their addiction and accept that the quick high will not do them any good in the long run.

  • Childhood Habits

What childhood habits have you brought to the table?
    Flashback:
You are six years old and crying your eyes out. Nana pats you on the head and says, ‘there, there, don’t cry, why don’t you have a lolly or an ice cream?’ Or in my case both!
At that moment the damage was done. I became an emotional eater. Now I blame my mum’s mum for my big bum!
That may sound a little melodramatic, but think back to your childhood and you may discover it affects you more than you realise.

  • Bingeing: The Truth

According to my dictionary a binge is a period of excessive and unrestrained self indulgence in food or drink.
The key words here are: excessive and unrestrained.
There are no benefits to be gained from bingeing. I remember eating as much as I wanted of whatever I wanted meal after meal after meal after meal after meal. It never stopped and makes me sick to think about it now.
I had many different ways of bingeing – some were planned feasts full of excess and indulgence and others involved eating a surplus of whatever I wanted whenever I wanted it.
